- Do you sometimes feel conflicted leading to difficulty making a decision?
- Are you triggered by certain people or events and find yourself wanting to have more mastery over how you respond?
- Do you wish it was easier to communicate with the people you hold most dear?
- Do you tend to take things personally?
- Do you have what you consider an irrational fear that creates a limitation in your life?
- Do you continue to be affected by feelings about events that happened a long time ago?
- Do you regularly engage in a behavior that you no longer enjoy but is difficult to change?
NLP or NeuroLinguistic Programming is "a set of techniques used for expanding perceptions and beliefs and therefore personal coherence and identity. NLP is the study of subjective experience." (Michael Bennett, Bennett/Stellar U).
It is an effective tool used for changing unwanted behaviors, getting rid of habits that are no longer serving, reducing weight, setting goals and eliminating obstacles between where you are now and where you would like to be in your ideal future.
This work attends to how we perceive through our senses, internalize our experience and map our reality. Often our behavioral responses are less about what is happening in the present moment and more a reaction to the internal map we have created from similar past experiences that have left an impression or imprint. Subconsciously we generalize the feeling of these past experiences and expect similar outcomes in the future. Through our unconscious expectations we can unwittingly recreate the situations both pleasant and unpleasant.
For example, if we are addressing a problematic behavior or response that no longer meets our needs, with the facilitation of an NLP practitioner, it is possible for an individual to observe how he/she has uniquely patterned him or herself into a set vocabulary of behavioral responses. This discovery process is empowering, allowing the client much more versatility in his/her perception of the event, increasing the choice of possible responses and the sense of self-control in the given situation. Then, by identifying different associations that simply feel better, the prior pattern can be placed by a new one. NLP techniques access the subconscious, bypassing the critical factor of the mind such that these new associations are authentic and congruent with one's deepest values. The result is often experienced as freedom from what in the past was considered a limitation. The goal is to adapt our internal map such that needs are better met, creating cohesion between what we perceive, how we create our experience and how we respond to our environment.
The techniques are surprisingly simple. Feeling better can be fast and easy. When you make your appointment you will learn to:
- Observe how you generate and maintain your internal map.
- Create increased internal congruence by aligning your behaviors with your deepest values.
- Gain more choice in how you respond to your environment.
- Evoke a different external reality.
These are some of the things that clients address with NLP:
- Developing a wellness strategy
- Increasing effective communication and rapport
- Enhancing personal achievement
- Reducing weight
- Smoking cessation
- Increasing confidence speaking in public
- Enhancing job performance
- Improving self-esteem
- Stress reduction
- Enhancing s ports performance
- Pain relief, communication with the body
NLP Coaching can be effectively used with goal achievement.
Not only can you change the things that feel like they are holding you back, like losing weight and smoking cessation. You can also experience ease in dreaming big, effectively planning your personal evolution and enjoying the amazing results.
Goal setting and goal achievement using NLP is a process of "chunking up" to one's highest intention, creating the freedom to fully envision. Within this process, NLP techniques are utilized to assist in creating congruence between different aspects of self that may be creating inner conflict or lack of clarity. Bring balance and enliven all aspects of what you do and who you are. Enhance your personal relationships, your relationship to money, career, creativity and recreation.
